Flooring It — Privacy Policy

The short version

Flooring It scans rooms using your device's camera and LiDAR sensor. Everything captured by that scan — the camera imagery, the depth data, the room model, the floor plan, and the names you give your rooms — is processed and stored entirely on your device. None of it is ever sent to Merano Studio. There is no account, no sign-up, and nothing to log in to.

There are no ads in Flooring It and no tracking of any kind. The app contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no crash reporter. Nothing about you or about the rooms you scan is collected, profiled, shared or sold — to anyone, ever.

Two things ever go from the app to us, and only two. They are described in full below: a purchase receipt if you buy Flooring It Pro, and feedback if you choose to send it. Neither one carries your name, your email address, or anything at all about your scans.

Your scans and floor plans

Scanning uses Apple's RoomPlan framework, which runs on your device. Camera frames and LiDAR depth measurements are consumed as the scan happens and are not recorded as photos or video. The resulting room model, the floor plan drawing, the thumbnails, and any room names you type are written to Flooring It's own private storage on your device.

We have no server that holds your scans, no cloud backup of them, and no ability to retrieve them. Deleting the app deletes them.

When you export a floor plan — as PDF, or with Flooring It Pro as SVG, USDZ, OBJ, Reality File, or JSON — the file is generated on your device and handed to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice, and it goes directly from your device to whatever destination you pick. We are not involved and receive no copy.

Purchases

Payment is handled by Apple. We never see or receive your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name.

When a purchase completes — or when you tap Restore Purchases — the app sends Apple's own cryptographically signed record of that transaction to our server at app-receipts.merano.studio, so we can confirm the purchase is genuine and keep your Pro features unlocked. That record contains the transaction identifier, the product purchased, and the app it belongs to. It is accompanied by a random identifier generated on your device the first time the app runs. That identifier is a random value; it is not derived from your device's serial number, your phone number, your Apple Account, or any advertising identifier, and it is not linked to your identity in any way. We store no name, email address, or payment information alongside it.

Feedback

Flooring It may occasionally invite you to rate the app or send a comment. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send. If you do, we receive the star rating, whatever text you typed, the app's version number, and which screen you sent it from. We do not attach your name, email address, device identifier, or IP address — so if you would like a reply, you have to include a way to reach you in the message itself. Please don't put anything sensitive in the free-text box.

Advertising and tracking

There is none. Flooring It contains no advertising SDK and shows no ads of any kind, in either the free or the paid version. Earlier versions of the app did show ads; that is over, and the ad code is gone from the app entirely.

• The app does not request Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it does not track you — not across apps, not across websites, not at all. Apple's definition of tracking is the one we mean here.
• No third-party advertising or measurement network receives your IP address, your device information, or anything else from Flooring It, because the app does not contact any.
• The app no longer participates in Apple's SKAdNetwork.
• Your rooms are not a product. We could not sell your scan data if we wanted to — we have never had a copy of it.

Verifying the app is genuine

Receipts and feedback are signed using Apple's App Attest, which proves the request came from a real, unmodified copy of Flooring It rather than from someone impersonating it. This creates a key inside your device's Secure Enclave and stores its identifier in your device keychain. The key is specific to this installation of this app, contains no personal information, and cannot be used to identify you or to track you anywhere else.

Analytics

Flooring It contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We do not collect usage statistics, session data, screen views, or crash reports from the app. (This website, separately, uses Google Analytics if you accept the banner — that is the site, not the app.)

Children

Flooring It is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. If you believe a child has sent us something identifying through the feedback box, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Stay on the free app. It scans, measures and exports PDFs without you ever buying anything, and app-receipts.merano.studio only hears from your device around a purchase or a Restore Purchases tap.
• Simply don't send feedback — nothing is transmitted unless you tap Send.
• Delete the app. Your scans and floor plans go with it. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing else to request, correct, or erase — but you are welcome to write to us and ask, and we will tell you exactly what we can see, which is very little.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
